Christmas Has Landed At Starbucks—Here's What's New, From Menu to Cup
As the candy wrappers from Halloween get tossed and pumpkin spice starts to take a back seat, you may begin getting excited about this holiday season. To kick things off right, Starbucks is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its holiday cups in style by unveiling new decorative cup designs and debuting its long-awaited seasonal beverages and sweet treats menu.
Beginning Nov. 3, Starbucks will be using the four new holiday cups for 2022 to serve up all of the fan-favorite holiday drinks and will debut its new and returning bakery items.
Since 1997, Starbucks holiday cups have been a yearly, tradition with various festive designs that herald the holiday season.
"Starbucks red cups capture a moment in time that invites our customers in to celebrate the season with us. We are delighted to see the cup designs each year and are honored to be a part of many of our customers' holiday traditions each year," a Starbucks spokesperson told Eat This, Not That! As for the future of the holiday cups, they aren't giving anything away, saying: "We don't have anything to share about next holiday's cup designs, but they are sure to delight!"
Here's a closer look at the lineup for 2022:
New Holiday Cups
Gift-Wrapped Magic: This red and green cup has "wavy ribbons and shimmering sparkles" to look like a wrapped-up gift.
Frosted Sparkle: Large diamonds and old-fashioned starbursts adorn this mint-green cup with a frosty background.
Ornament Wonder: A classic white Starbucks cup decked out with festive holiday-themed patterns and symbols to represent Christmas tree ornaments.
Cozy Evergreen: The bold, staple red cup is dressed with long and wide white Christmas trees.
Returning Seasonal Drinks
Starbucks is known for its beloved seasonal beverages during the holiday season. This year's lineup will include the fan-favorite Peppermint Mocha, Caramel Brulée Latte, Chestnut Praline Latte, Toasted White Chocolate Mocha, and Irish Cream Cold Brew. And returning for its second holiday season, the Iced Sugar Cookie Almondmilk Latte.
New and Returning Seasonal Food
Starbucks' new holiday morning treat is the Chocolate Pistachio Swirl. It is a buttery brioche-like sticky bun filled with a creamy paste with notes of cinnamon, coffee, and chocolate and topped with chopped pistachios. If you were a fan of the seasonal Pistachio Latte or the discontinued (and sadly missed) Cinnamon Bun, you will have to try it.
A few treats from years past will be returning to the menu as well. Starbucks will offer once again, the Reindeer Cake Pop, Sugar Plum Cheese Danish, Cranberry Bliss Bar, and Snowman Cookie.
Don't Miss Red Cup Day
On the highly anticipated Red Cup Day, customers can receive a free, limited-edition reusable decorated red cup with the purchase of a grande size (or larger) seasonal fall or holiday beverage. While it has not yet been officially announced, last year's launch was two weeks after the introduction of the holiday menu on Nov. 18. So stay tuned!
