Don't sleep on sunscreen
Sunscreen is the name of the game when it comes to practicing smart skincare. Libby stresses the importance of wearing it, how much to apply, and how often to apply it. "The sun's UV rays are [the culprits behind] 90% of visible signs of photoaging like brown spots, fine lines, and wrinkles," Libby explains. "You should apply 2 finger-lengths of sunscreen daily to your face and neck, and if outside, remember to reapply every 2 hours and use sun-safe wear like wide-brimmed hats."

Apply antioxidant serum in the morning
The next step is adding an antioxidant serum to your morning skincare regimen. According to Libby, "Antioxidants help protect your skin and neutralize free radical damage caused by UV radiation and environmental factors that encounter your skin, like pollution." An important ingredient Libby looks for in her antioxidant serum is vitamin C, which can enhance collagen production.

Use products with retinoids and peptides at night
Before you head to sleep, you should be carving out quality skincare time with products that contain peptides and retinoids. "Copper peptides like those found in Reserveage Beauty's skincare line have been shown to support collagen and elastin production. Retinoids are vitamin A derivatives that help [boost] skin cell turnover," Libby says.
Things to consider if you notice fine lines and wrinkles when your skin's at rest
If you're seeing forehead wrinkles and fine lines when you're not moving your face at all, Libby says it will be really hard to completely eliminate them. She says the best time to get Botulinum toxin (Botox) injections, if you decide to take that route, is before these wrinkles and lines become a constant. And if they are when your face is at rest, then by getting Botox, you'll hopefully be able to soften the look of them and smoothen them out as time passes. She adds, "Topically, there are topical peptides that work similarly to botulinum toxin to minimize the appearance of lines."
