This Regional Grocery Chain Is Now Offering Big Savings Amid Rising Grocery Costs
Grocery prices went up nearly 30% in 2021, and experts aren't predicting relief in the new year.
In December, Kroger Chief Financial Officer Gary Millerchip said America's largest grocery chain would pass "along higher cost to the customer where it makes sense to do so." A month earlier, Dollar Tree announced that it would be raising prices from $1 to $1.25 to cover increased costs.
As top supermarkets pass along increased costs to customers, one regional grocery chain is luring shoppers with the promise of double-digit savings.

Winn-Dixie is putting more than 150 items on sale.
Winn-Dixie, a supermarket chain that has been around since 1925, recently underwent an expansion. It now has almost 500 stores in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, and Mississippi.
As the retailer lowers prices on dozens of grocery items, here's everything you need to know before you visit your local store.
The selection of items is seasonal.
Customers can expect to save about 15% on average when they shop items included in the "Down Down"program. The current promotion has an end date, but it isn't arriving for a few more weeks. According to the chain's website, deals on featured products are valid until March 6.
However, the chain confirmed in a press release that it would be providing "deeper discounts on regularly purchased items each season." So, expect the selection of products to change throughout the year.
Don't forget to sign up for the chain's rewards program.
To take advantage of the markdowns, shoppers need to sign up for Winn-Dixie's rewards program. You scan the app or enter your phone number at checkout. With around six more weeks of savings, it's not too late to sign up.
What items are being marked down?
In addition to grocery stores, beloved brands like Campbell Soup Co., Kraft, and Mondelez International Inc. are raising the prices of popular pantry staples in 2022.
Winn-Dixie is advertising discounts on more than 150 of its "most-shopped products." Fresh produce and items in the dairy, frozen, and general merchandise areas of the store will be included. Simply look for the red hands that are popping up on signs and tags throughout the store.
