The very first Trader Joe's location opened in 1967 in Pasadena, Calif. The brand has since transformed into a beloved low-cost grocery chain that turns "shopping into a welcoming journey full of discovery and fun," thanks to items like $2.99 wine, frozen foods, and more.
There are currently more than 500 stores in 42 states and Washington D.C., and the chain isn't done adding new locations yet. In fact, several new stores have either recently opened their doors or have plans to do so soon—and we have the details below. (If you need help putting together your grocery list, here are The 4 Best New Summer Trader Joe's Products, According to an RD.)
Coming soon: South Bend, Indiana
"We've consulted our maps and compass and have found a terrific location for a store in South Bend," TJ's says of this new store on Howard St. "Our crew is working hard so we can open our doors in 2021."
An official opening date and time for the Indiana location aren't confirmed at this time.

Coming soon: Lower Allen Township, Pennsylvania
This Trader Joe's location is so new that it isn't even listed on the store's website yet. However, the Lower Allen Development Authority recently confirmed plans for the 12,500-square-foot store, according to local news station FOX43.
Construction is already underway on the project, which has an expected opening date of early next year. When that happens, it will get a warm welcome—the closest TJ's stores are currently located in Baltimore, State College, and Philadelphia.
Just opened: Crestview Hills, Kentucky
The newest 13,400-square-foot TJ's store in Northern Kentucky was "long-awaited," according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. It's the first location on the south side of the Ohio River and only the second store in the Greater Cincinnati area.
The opening date and time was July 16 at 8 a.m. This location sells beer, wine, and liquor.
Recently opened: Long Island City, New York
Before the Crestview Hills grand opening, the Trader Joe's on Jackson Ave. Long Island City was the newest store open for business. The official first day was June 25, meaning customers have been able to get their hands on beloved items like Chile Lime Chicken Burgers, Sweet Italian Style Chicken Sausage, and more for about a month now.
Recently opened: Christiana, Delaware
A new Trader Joe's location in Deleware opened its doors to customers earlier this spring. Located on Fashion Center Blvd., Trader Joe's #759 doesn't sell alcohol. However, it's open every day of the week from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
