This Popular Burger Chain Is About to Expand With More Than 100 New Locations
Most Americans have numerous fast-food options within a short drive, but for most, Jack in the Box isn't currently among them. That's because the beloved burger chain, while ubiquitous in some markets, is absent from many regions.
But that is likely to change in the coming years. In fact, the change is already underway. According to QSR Magazine, Jack in the Box has made nearly two dozen new development agreements in its fourth quarter, which will see the opening of 111 new locations in the next few years. Seven of the agreements alone, signed just in the past few weeks, will be responsible for nearly 50 new Jack in the Box restaurants.
And while many of the new restaurants will be opening in existing markets—such as Los Angeles and Dallas— the chain will also be opening up shop in new areas, like Louisville and Salt Lake City.
Here's where Jack In the Box currently stands on the American fast-food map.

The chain has been around longer than Burger King
Though one of the older fast-food chains in America—it was founded a year before Burger King—Jack In the Box can be found in fewer than half of the states. It has a heavy presence in the western states, but can only be found in a few southern states and not at all in the Northeast.
It currently has more than 2,000 locations
According to the company's own data, there are currently 2,212 Jack in the Box locations in operation, which pales in comparison to the 13,000 McDonald's locations, the 7,250-odd Burger King locations, or the 5,800-plus Wendy's.
Sales are up at Jack in the Box
Jack in the Box has good reason to be confident about adding new stores based on how well its been doing of late. According to QSR Mag, the restaurant experienced an impressive 14% year-over-year increase during third quarter.
The company has hinted at much bigger plans
The recent announcement of the 111 new Jack in the Box locations comes on the heels of the chain's renewed franchising efforts after a long-standing dispute was resolved with existing franchisees. Less than a year ago, the company hinted that it could add as many as 1,100 new locations in the coming years.
