This Is Taco Bell's Most Underrated Menu Item, Customers Agree

Step aside, Cheesy Gordita Crunch.

Taco Bell sure knows how to give its customers what they want, and then some! With its menu constantly turning over new items and even bringing back beloved oldies, you can't help but have appreciation for the chain. From nacho fries and Mexican pizza, to crafty drink flavors such as mango whip and wild cherry, the menu is anything but boring. But there's one hidden gem on there that may fly under the radar as it isn't necessarily a "main event," but that millions of customers actually love.

A recent Reddit post with the headline "This is the most underrated item on the menu. Who else agrees?" decided to celebrate the saucy glory that are the Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes, and hundreds of users piled on to profess their love for the humble side.

4 Just-Launched Taco Bell Items You Can Try Right Now

The Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes were a core staple on the menu for several years, until around March 2020, when Taco Bell made some cuts to its menu. The spuds did not make the pandemic cut, and the chain definitely received some backlash for it.

"Underrated? Lmao there was an entire crusade to get Taco Bell to bring them back…" said one user. And they're right. There was even a Change.org petition created by fans who were calling on the chain to reverse its decision. And luckily, Taco Bell obliged. A year later, in March 2021, the potatoes made a comeback.

So even though this menu item took a bit of a vacation, its absence made hearts grow fonder for Taco Bell customers—and if you've never tried it, or are new to Taco Bell, you're in for a treat.

Customers like theirs prepared in different ways, with one Reddit user stating "…try it with tomatoes on it, it adds some pop to it!" and another adding, "I add onions, tomatoes, and chipotle sauce… so good."
