To maintain his muscular physique and keep his energy high for his multiple daily workouts, Asghari largely steers clear of anything that comes in a bag or box.

"My diet starts with eating things that are grown from the ground, rather than processed foods," Asghari tells Men's Health. "So, for example, carbohydrates I eat are sweet potatoes, potatoes, rice, and so on."

After a fasted hourlong workout, Asghari has breakfast, which typically consists of "four to five eggs, [and] a little bit of vegetables on the side." One thing you won't find on Asghari's plate at breakfast, however? Carbs other than veggies.

After his midday meal, Asghari hits the gym again for a cardio or HIIT workout.

Asghari knows that his way of eating works, so he doesn't deviate from it at dinnertime.

"I usually repeat the same meals throughout the day—three to five meals that are 25% carbohydrates, 25% veggies and greens, and 50% proteins."

He's a big fan of supplements.

To complement his diet, Asghari relies on a daily supplement routine.

"I try to focus on fatty acids, omega-3s, fish oils, multivitamins. The vitamins help you with the functionality of not just your body, but also your brain."

Cheat days are still on the menu.

"I love cheat days. I love food," says Asghari, a former chef.

"A burger and fries is definitely a go-to. I definitely do one [cheat] meal throughout the week…I try to be healthy enough [with] 95% of my diet routine that I allow myself for that 5% to have that food that I desire."
