Lucy Liu Says This Exact Diet Gives Her More Energy and Less Bloat
Lucy Liu is fitter than ever at 52, and the star has found a diet and exercise routine that keeps her feeling energized and healthy, even when she's working long hours on set. In a new interview with Women's Health, Liu reveals the diet and workout plan she's sticking to these days—and it's surprisingly easy to follow.

She ditched her vegan diet.
While Liu once adhered to a vegan diet for close to a year before becoming a vegetarian in December 2020. However, you won't find her adding meat back to her meals anytime soon. The star tells Women's Health that sticking to primarily plant-based meals has helped her keep her energy high and reduce bloat. Among her favorite plant-based meals? Savory quinoa porridge and a soup made from lion's mane mushrooms, lotus root, red dates.

She's loading up on protein.
Since transitioning from veganism to vegetarianism, Liu has added eggs back into her diet, at the suggestion of her acupuncturist—a decision that's made it easy to create meals that she and her son Rockwell, age 5, can share.
"I make a lot of things for my son that have cheese and eggs in them, so I eat with him because he loves sharing food," she explains.
She keeps her workouts short and sweet.
You won't find Liu logging long hours in the gym to achieve her enviably fit figure. Instead, she relies on shorter workouts to keep her body strong and healthy. At home, Liu does 20-minute workouts on her Variis bike and 10-minute strengthening workouts for her arms.

She's adopted a healthy attitude toward her body.
While Liu admits that media scrutiny isn't an easy thing to deal with, she says that she's grateful to have come to a place in her life where she appreciates her body.
