Jimmy John's Just Debuted This New Spicy Chicken Sandwich
Jimmy John's isn't letting all the other fast-food and quick-service restaurants dominate the chicken sandwich wars. The sandwich shop is rolling up to the scene with its own new chicken sandwich: the Jimmy John's Smokin' Kickin' Chicken Sandwich.
This limited-time-only sandwich is packed with spice and flavor. As of Monday, Feb. 1, the new sandwich is available at Jimmy John's locations nationwide–but only through March 21. The brand new sandwich is made with seasoned chicken, creole chili pepper sauce, Jimmy peppers, provolone cheese, avocado, onions, lettuce, oil, vinegar, and mayo on your choice of fresh-baked bread. Our mouths are watering just reading about it! Jimmy John's has been testing new sandwich options at select locations, and after rave reviews for this particular spicy chicken, the chain decided to offer it nationwide.
This is only the beginning of what Jimmy John's has planned for the rest of 2021, though. The sandwich chain promises multiple new dishes to debut throughout the year, all of which will be offered for a limited time. So, if you aren't already a Jimmy John's regular, it might be time to start visiting your local shop now.
The Jimmy John's Smokin' Kickin' Chicken Sandwich prices will vary based on location, but will probably be about $1 more than your JJ's favorites. In terms of nutrition, the sandwich isn't a terrible option. The 8-inch sandwich on French bread is 850 calories and packs 37 grams of protein.
You can get it Unwich style, though, to save yourself a lot of calories and carbs. The breadless option, which substitutes lettuce leaves for bread, clocks in at just 580 calories only 9 grams of carbs. By comparison, the French bread version packs 60 grams of carbs. As far as competitors go, the Unwich style of the Smokin' Kickin' Chicken Sandwich is the healthiest of all the fried chicken sandwiches offered at other popular fast-food chains—which are all the rage right now.
If you want to try out the limited-time sandwich, we suggest heading to Jimmy John's sooner rather than later. Though it's available until March 21, it could disappear sooner if supplies run out.
