A Brand-New Costco is Opening in This State
With its member perks and great deals on bulk items, new Costco warehouses are opening up all across the country. There are currently 572 locations in America, with 22% of all locations operating in California.
Residents of Natomas, California can get excited—because a Costco is soon coming their way. This warehouse will be the 10th location opening up in the Sacramento area by 2023.
Sacramento City Councilmember Angelique Ashby revealed the news on Twitter mid-last week, saying that the proposed warehouse will be 160,000 square feet and hopefully be open for the holiday season next year.

"Costco is working with the city and our office, preparing a site plan, and building elevations with the intent to submit the project to the city for an expedited review," Ashby tweeted.
While there are currently no plans for a gas station at this location, other parts of the project include a proposed Chipotle, Wendy's, and Starbucks nearby.
People online were elated by the news, with one Twitter user saying, "Yay! Finally!" while another tweeted, "Dreams do come true."
What Shoppers Need to Know
Before the warehouse comes to Natomas, there are a few things residents need to know about Costco.
There are two types of Costco memberships: the Gold Star and the Executive. The basic Gold Star option costs $60 per year, and offers two membership cards per household. Gold Star members can also enjoy the food court, the pharmacy and eye center, the tire center, and receive special offers on travel.
The Executive membership comes in at double the price, but also offers a 2% rewards program, a free subscription to Costco Connection Magazine plus all the benefits of the cheaper membership option.
According to analysts, the warehouse chain increases the membership rates on an average of every 5.5 years. There hasn't been an increase since 2017—so there may be a membership hike sometime soon.
