Fall has come unexpectedly early to Costco, and members are not complaining. That's because the autumnal winds have blown in one of the warehouse's most anticipated fall treats. No, it's not Halloween candy (just yet), but one of the bakery's most beloved breakfast items.
The Pumpkin Streusel Muffins have recently been spotted at Costco, according to the Dallas-based instagrammer @Costcohotfinds. The super-soft muffins are a blend of pumpkin, spice, and cinnamon flavors, and feature a crumble topping dusted with powdered sugar. They come in a six-pack and sell for $8.99.
And for those that aren't the biggest fans of pumpkin, the Coffee Cake Muffins have also hit the bakery shelves and feature a similar crumble topping without the squash flavor.
Last year, the Pumpkin Streusel Muffins were reported to have debuted at the bakery at the end of August, so it does appear that Costco is ushering the fall season in early. Other annual items that usually make the rounds this time of year are the Pumpkin Pie, Double Crust Apple Pie, and Pumpkin Spice Loaf.
The fall season at the bakery follows the addition of a new summer favorite that premiered in late July. Additionally, Mini Lemon Cakes With Buttercream Icing joined a series of new "mini" bakery items that launched in June.
Besides its ever-changing lineup of baked goods, Costco has announced other major changes. The warehouse has expansion plans that are in full swing as new stores open through the end of 2022.
Additionally, an uptick in prices might await you on your next visit. It seems Costco has no doubt felt the pinch of inflation, product shortages, and recalls–which have resulted in price hikes on at least seven major items.
