Costco Now Has a Mini Version of This Beloved Bakery Item
Headlines from the Costco bakery usually consist of items either disappearing from or making their triumphant returns back to one of the most iconic sections of the warehouse. It isn't as common for brand-spanking-new items to drop, but today is one of those rare days!
Technically, the newest addition to the bakery is an old favorite, but it has an entirely new flare. What I'm talking about here is the size—and for once I don't mean bigger! Costco just released a mini version of this beloved bakery item.
In 2020, we said goodbye to the All American Chocolate Cake. After some Costco members began to notice that the beloved cake wasn't being restocked, a Chage.org petition was created to help bring it back. Thus far, more than 7,200 people have signed on in a show of support.
The good news? Costco listened . . . sort of. There's now a pack of mini cakes on sale in this popular flavor.

The Mini All American Cakes are a unique size.
Smaller than the original cake but larger than a muffin, the mini version of the decadent dessert is about the same size as the mini carrot cakes sold by Costco earlier this year, one member reported on Reddit. After users @peanutbuttahgainz and @cveyes spotted them, they alerted other Costco members to the big news.
The cakes are also a different price.
It's not just the size of the new chocolate cake that's smaller—so is the price! Regularly $16.99, the bigger than a cupcake mini All American Chocolate Cakes only cost $7.99.

There's more good news for fans of the original version of this cake: Reviewers claim that the mini versions taste exactly the same. For example, Reddit user @ADashofDirewolf says: "Same cake, fudge, and chocolate shavings we used on the big AA cakes only now in cupcake form."
Since the item is so new, it was hard for us to get our hands on the nutritional information for each mini cake. According to MyFitnessPal, one slice of the original cake was around 637 calories, with 38 grams of fat, 32 grams of carbs, and 20 grams of sugar. With the same ingredients, the mini versions also likely aren't the healthiest dessert out there. However, the smaller size certainly makes them easier to cut in half and share!
