4 Major Menu Changes You'll See at Chick-fil-A
The beloved home of the original chicken sandwich has announced several tweaks to its menu in recent months. While there's inevitable innovation taking place in the chicken category, the company is also trimming some of its breakfast items and rethinking the sizes of kid's meals, drinks, and desserts.
If you're hitting up Chick-fil-A this spring, here are the changes you'll see on the menu. And for more on the latest fast-food trends, check out the 6 Most Anticipated Fast-Food Menu Items Launching This Year.
A New Grilled Chicken Sandwich
The chain decided to zhuzh up its grilled chicken sandwiches with a limited-time offer that rolled out in January. Meet the Grilled Spicy Deluxe, which features a grilled chicken breast rubbed with Chick-fil-A's spicy seasoning on a multigrain bun with tomato, lettuce, and cheese. What makes this better-for-you chicken sandwich noteworthy is the brand new Cilantro Lime Sauce, which is specifically designed to cool off your taste buds. Try one with your choice of cheese for less than $6, while supplies last.
Some Breakfast Options Missing
If Chick-fil-A is your breakfast destination of choice, you'll soon find some options missing from the morning menu. The company recently confirmed it will be getting rid of bagels and decaf hot coffee as it streamlines menu options in the coming months. However, you may be happy to know that contrary to popular belief, the chain is still serving this beloved breakfast item, rumored to have been discontinued in 2016.
Fewer Size Options
Streamlining the menu also means rethinking the sizes of several items. Starting sometime this spring, the Nuggets Kid's Meal, which currently comes with four or six pieces of chicken, will only be available in a five-piece option, while various sizes of coffee drinks, ice cream cones, and milkshakes will also be narrowed down.
A New Dessert Option
The Chocolate Fudge Brownie joined the treat section of the menu last fall. This new dessert features rich semisweet chocolate melted into the batter along with fudgy chunks. They come individually wrapped and can be purchased separately or by the tray.
