The One Food That Melts Fat Fast, Says Science

The best part? You can easily incorporate it into just about every meal.

Just about everyone wishes all it took was a bite of one food, and any unwanted fat on their body would instantly melt away. In an ideal world, this would happen, but here on Earth, it takes a bit of time and effort. What you eat does obviously play a role in getting rid of fat, and there are some foods that will help you reach those desired goals more than others. If you're really looking to add one food into your daily diet that you can confidently trust is going to help you melt fat fast, time to take notes.

See, we uncovered proof that there really is a food that will help melt fat fast, and it's something you like already have in your pantry. (It's a good idea to try out these 15 Underrated Weight Loss Tips That Actually Work while you're at it, too!)

So, without further ado, the one food you should be eating that will help melt fat fast is…

Cinnamon

Yes, the spice that is most likely in your pantry ready to be sprinkled atop a bowl of oatmeal, mixed in some yogurt or morning smoothie, and shaken into a cup of coffee is the key to melting fat.

A study published in Clinical Nutrition found that cinnamon supplementation significantly affected obesity measures. 786 adult subjects were included in the study and the results were very promising. They showed that cinnamon administration significantly decreased body weight, body mass index, waist circumference, and fat mass in the subjects when administered for 12 weeks.

And that's not all.

In 2017, researchers at the University of Michigan uncovered that cinnamaldehyde, an essential oil that gives cinnamon its flavor, improves metabolic health by acting directly on fat cells. Essentially, it gets fat cells to start burning energy through a process called thermogenesis. By activating thermogenesis, the fat-burning process begins. So it's easy to see why cinnamon can be seen as a secret weapon of sorts! At least when it comes to reducing weight and burning fat, that is.

The upsides keep coming, too. Cinnamon actually can help improve other aspects of your health. A study from the Journal of Food Science found that cinnamon acts as a prebiotic, which promotes the growth of good bacteria in your gut. Another study published in the Journal of the Endocrine Society found that cinnamon can help improve blood sugar control in people with prediabetes and, in turn, help slow the progression of prediabetes to type 2 diabetes.

Cinnamon really is the gift that keeps on giving! It will have your body melting fat, and can help keep you healthy in the long run. Time to get to sprinkling cinnamon on, well, just about everything.
