5 Costco Items That Will Never Rise in Price

One of our favorite things about Costco is the deals. The big-box store sells so many of our go-to grocery and household items at budget-friendly prices, which keeps shoppers going back time and time again. But when it comes to those prices, some of Costco's items will stay rooted in the same cost you've always seen. That food court hot dog and drink combo that you love? It's been the same price since the 1980s.

While they can actually vary slightly based on your own geographic location, the sentiment still holds true that some of Costco's items just won't change in price. Obviously under extreme circumstances—like the inflation surges we're seeing right now—this could change, but these are the things we don't think Costco will ever alter the cost of (at least for now).

Rotisserie Chicken

Costco's rotisserie chicken is a staple at the warehouse for a mere $4.99. The warehouse chain sells millions of the birds every year, but the price has remained firm. It's one of the most popular buys at Costco, largely because of its budget-friendly price, and we sincerely hope the price sticks, despite inflation and food shortages.

You (hopefully) never have to worry about seeing a price increase on Costco's food court hot dog and drink combo. The $1.50 buy has remained the same price over the years, and in fact, when the question was raised among execs a few years ago, it was promptly shot down.

According to Business Insider, when Costco CEO Craig Jelinek approached the warehouse's founder, Jim Sinegal, about a possible price increase, Sinegal reportedly said, "If you raise the [price of the] effing hot dog, I will kill you. Figure it out."

Needless to say, Jelinek did figure it out, and that price has never changed.

Food Court Pizza

Elsewhere in Costco's food court, the pizza has remained the same price for some time now. A slice is $1.99, which we see as holding steady for the foreseeable future. The pizza is available in pepperoni and cheese only after the warehouse got rid of the combo option, which shoppers are still understandably bummed about.

Kirkland Signature Bottled Water

Costco's Kirkland Signature 40-pack of bottled water was $2.99 for the longest time, which we believed would hold steady. Alas, the water was hit by inflation in the last few months and did jump up to $3.19, but we don't see that price changing any time soon. After holding steady at $2.99 for so long, we don't think Costco will want to change the price again if they can manage.

Kirkland Signature Champagne Brut

We're happy to report that Costco's Kirkland Signature Champagne Brut has been the same price for the last several years and doesn't show any signs of changing soon. Costco shoppers on Reddit have been lamenting how much inflation has affected their warehouse's prices, but one wise person pointed out that one thing they've noticed hasn't changed is the Champagne—and they're right. A bottle has been $19.99 for years and remains that price. It's one of Costco's hot buys in the drinks department, so we don't see the price going up in the near future.
