Chipotle Is Bringing Back Its Beloved Free Burrito Event—Here's How To Score One
Who says Halloween is just a day to get free candy? Chipotle says it's also a chance to score free burritos.
In a recent news release, the Mexican fast-casual chain announced that its 22-year-old Boorito promotion—aka the brand's longest-running tradition—will be coming back to restaurants as an in-person event for the first time since 2019.

Following last year's digital-only Boorito promotion on the gaming platform Roblox, Chipotle is now allowing its Rewards members to claim a free $6 entrée when they visit a Chipotle location in the U.S. from 3 p.m. local time to closing on October 31. And in the spirit of Halloween, you have to wear a costume to redeem your burrito. To seal the deal, simply open the Chipotle app, tap "SCAN," and then scan the Chipotle Rewards member ID at the register.
That's not all Chipotle has in store for the spookiest day of the year, though. In honor of the Boorito deal's return, Chipotle is giving 10 customers the opportunity to win free burritos for a year in its upcoming "BooReal" campaign.
To participate, individuals must take a photo of themselves in costume at a Chipotle restaurant on October 31 and upload it to BeReal—the popular social media platform that gives users two minutes to post whatever they are doing when a daily notification goes off. The BeReal post must feature the hashtag #booritosweepstakes and can be shared to Instagram Stories by tagging @chipotle or sent via email to [email protected] with "BooReal Sweepstakes" in the subject line.
"Boorito is all about having fun with your friends and enjoying real food in our restaurants," Chris Brandt, Chipotle's Chief Marketing Officer, said in the company's news release. "After two years of celebrating virtually, we're leveling up the in-person experience with fun activations on social that will help bring fans together on Halloween."

Rounding out the Halloween festivities, Chipotle will also be giving away a total of $25,000 to Chipotle Rewards members via Cash App. To enter for a chance to win, all you need to do is sign up for Chipotle Rewards, follow @chipotletweets, and drop the $cashtag with #ChipotleBoorito as a reply to Chipotle's tweets announcing each giveaway on October 13, 20, 25, or 27. Chipotle will dole out $5,000 on the first three days before issuing the $10,000 grand prize on October 27.
