Burger King Will Give You a Free Whopper After You Give up a Picture of Your Ex
Burger King wants all of the singles out there to feel seen this Valentine's Day, especially for those who have recently endured heartbreak and maybe even those that still dwell on their hipster college partner.
We're talking about you, Asher and Margot.
Just because you're single this Valentine's Day, doesn't mean you can't take advantage of all of the restaurant deals and promotions there are surrounding the holiday. In fact, Burger King's Valentine's Day deal is specifically designed for those who are single. The promo? All you need to do is hand over a printed photo of your ex (considering you didn't torch all evidence of them) and a free Whopper is all yours.
It's really that simple. So go ahead, unearth that old photo of your ex from the box beneath your bed that's full of forgotten memories, and head over to a participating Burger King on Valentine's Day to redeem what's rightfully yours: a juicy burger.
If you're wondering why the fast-food giant decided to take the anti-couple approach on what is the most romantic day of the year, it's actually because of a partnership with Warner Bros. Pictures for their new film Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn).
The eighth film in the DC Extended Universe series, which was released on Feb. 7, follows Harley Quinn after her explosive breakup with The Joker. Burger King is effectively helping you join in on Quinn's scorned lover attitude by using your ex to get free food. It's brilliant, really. May as well be called the Burger King breakup burger.
To all of you heartbroken Whopper-lovers residing in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Boston, this is your chance to get rid of that last photo. Now if you're in New York City, you could also hand the staff a letter, stuffed animal, or a clothing item from your ex that you've been dying to get rid of in exchange for a free Whopper. On Feb. 14, the following Burger King locations will have "breakup boxes" to help you finally say goodbye to that former flame and then say hello to a free meal.

For the people who want to join in on the anti-Valentine's Day spirit, but don't live close to one of the four Burger King locations with breakup boxes, you'll have the opportunity to take a quiz in the Burger King App. If you get four out of the five questions correct, you'll receive a coupon to score a Whopper for just $3.
So, if you're not going to break up with your boyfriend because you're bored, maybe you'll have more motivation to do so if a free Whopper is on the line? We'd personally take a burger over boyfriend any Valentine's Day.
