Dr. Lisa Young is an internationally recognized nutritionist and portion control expert. She is an adjunct professor of nutrition at New York University, author, international lecturer, and media consultant. As a registered dietitian nutritionist in private practice, Dr. Young counsels adults and children on a wide variety of nutrition and health issues and serves as a consultant and nutrition advisor to corporations and health departments.
One of the leading experts on portion sizes, Dr. Young is the author of Finally Full, Finally Thin and The Portion Teller Plan. She has also authored numerous peer-reviewed research articles and served as an adviser to the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene on its various portion-control initiatives. Dr. Young is a contributor to US News & World Report, and major media outlets routinely call on her as an expert voice on nutrition and health.
Dr. Young received her doctorate in nutrition from New York University and her bachelor's degree in health care administration from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. The Israel Cancer Research Fund (ICRF) named Dr. Young a "Woman of Action." She lives in New York City and enjoys practicing yoga, swimming, biking, and dining out.
