Lacey Dunn, MS, RD, LD, CPT, founder of UpliftFit Nutrition and host of the UpliftFit Nutrition podcast, is a functional medicine dietitian with a fiery passion for helping women feel and look their very best. People call her the "Hormone Fairy Godmother," as her one mission in life is to help women go from surviving to thriving. Dunn specializes in all things hormones, thyroid, gut, and metabolism and incorporates on-going education into her daily life.
Dunn's credentials include: Master's in Nutrition from Texas Women's University, Bachelor's in Dietetics from University of Georgia, Certified Personal Trainer (NASM), Functional Medicine Nutrition Specialist (FMNS) in training, and author of The Women's Guide to Hormonal Harmony: How to Rebalance Your Hormones, Master Your Metabolism, and Become the Boss of Your Own Body.
Using a personalized, holistic approach, Dunn draws upon her own struggles to help others reclaim their health and body. Her childhood and adolescent years were a mix of severe focus on school and competitive cheerleading. She went to college for almost eight years. Starting in her junior year of high school, she completed half a Biomedical Sciences degree at the University of Central Florida, where she also cheered as a D1 College Athlete, before transferring and getting her graduate degree in Dietetics at the University of Georgia. It was at this time that she entered into bodybuilding, becoming even more fascinated with the human body and using nutrition for body health and wellness and physique enhancement, or what she calls "metabolic mastery."
Dunn continued her education to become a dietitian and completed her Master's at Texas Women's University, which involved a 1200+ hour internship comprised of clinical care, community, and research involvement. During this time, she balanced being a full-time online trainer, while completing her internship and Master's degree. She also continued to compete in bodybuilding, landing top call outs in national shows. That's where the turning point in her life was, and the reason she wrote The Women's Guide to Hormonal Harmony.
